Teaching has become a hot career choice for many of the youth. Especially during this COVID-19 times, it has grown about 4 times (Indian express link). And it’s definitely good news, teachers do play an enormous role in building society and making a country skillful. A Teacher being a noble profession brings its own challenges especially when they have to face their students. And here is a need to point out a question that every new teacher in this profession has a question in his/her mind. HOW TO DEVELOP A POSITIVE ATTITUDE FOR STUDENTS AS A TEACHER?
An important one yet the most neglected question. And this blog is here to suggest some ways by which the teacher can attain it.
This will be a short answer so stick with it. I will make sure that it will surely be of some benefit to you.
ATTITUDE GIVES YOU FREEDOM.
First of all, you need to understand that whether you are in a teaching profession or any other profession YOUR ATTITUDE IS YOUR WINDOW TO THE WORLD.
Here the window is our thoughts towards everything and anything. Your need to clean up your window or thoughts and allow sunlight that is the positive energy to enter your mind.
This is probably the most important aspect to develop a positive mental attitude towards your student as a teacher.
Remember to produce positive results, the thought process must be dominated by positive thoughts.
CORRECT THE MISTAKES AND NOT CRITICISE THEM.
Secondly, it’s a fact your students want to learn something and do not always look for mischiefs. Actually, they look for mischiefs only when they do not understand the topic being taught.
It’s not that here your teaching method is under scanner but your attitude is. See to it your students, do not fear of putting their opinion in front of you. How can you do this?
You do this by correcting their mistakes and not criticizing it. There is a very thin line between the two, for example
How many times shall you tell it, you are stupid or what? – This is criticism, but
Seems that the topic needs to be taught in a different way as you have not understood. – This is correcting.
If you only criticise, this will stop them to tell you their problem in the future which will ultimately hamper not only theirs but your career too as teacher.

COMMITMENT.
Your students they ask for it or not, look for commitment from your part. A commitment that you want to make them learn. In spite of the time, it will take to make them understand. This Commitment will be the ideal Positive mental attitude towards your student as a teacher.
Remember, even with this commitment, life, and students both will test you to see how serious you are in your purpose, but once you get through it, it’s a guarantee that you will surely win the hearts of your students and also will be able to handle them in the most perfect way.

WATCH YOUR WORDS.
Your words have incredible power. They can build your character and even destroy it. Especially when you are in a profession like this, your every word that you speak will be judged every moment.
For example, if your words include words of laziness, criticism, etc. then your students might have a laugh at that very moment, but be sure that they have made a decision to take you lightly at every moment.
Your words should be more inspiring, it should promote hard work, determination, honesty towards work, and health.
I know these are not that easy but creating a positive mental attitude towards your student as a teacher is not easy either. Correct?
CONFRONT YOUR FEARS AND GROW.
Finally, this is the most important attitude that you must develop. This is quite a basic one but still an attitude that every human being should inherit.
Do the thing that is putting you in an uncomfortable place, and when its done, you grow at that very moment.

If we talk about this topic, to develop a positive attitude for students as a teacher requires confronting students, understanding and adjusting to their mentality, and making them do what is required by them to do.
Quite an uncomfortable situation, right? Especially when you are new to this profession. But believe me, if you want to be successful and develop a positive mental attitude towards your student then you should be willing to be uncomfortable.
Only by being this uncomfortable you will be able to achieve your goals and realize your true potential.
Remember life will not reward you if you refuse to expose yourself to difficulties and challenges. It’s important to take actions despite fear.
Enjoy this uncomfortability, and you will do great things in life as teacher.
Best of luck.
